Visa - Your Ideal Travel Partner |
|
With the hot months of summer soon approaching, now is the perfect time to start planning for travels abroad. But before making your booking, here are a few tips to help you get the most buying power, convenience and security out of your Visa card.

Special Savings when Paying with Visa
As the world’s leading payment brand, Visa is the preferred partner for many international hotels and car rental companies providing cardholders with discounts and added value benefits. Log on to www.visadestinations.com for a list of all current promotions together with a destination guide, travel planner and travel resources. Also check with your local Visa bank for any special summer offers.
Travel Insurance
If you use your Visa card to pay for your travel tickets, you may find that you, and in some cases your immediate family, automatically receive free travel and accident insurance. Check with the bank that issued your Visa card for more details.
Easy Access
The Visa Global ATM Network is the largest in the world meaning that access to your money has never been easier. Look for the Visa or PLUS symbol at more than 800,000 ATMs across the world to withdraw cash 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And when making purchases, Visa and Visa Electron is accepted at 15 million shops and service outlets in over 130 countries providing you with convenient access anytime, anywhere.
The Safest Way to Pay
Your Visa card is the safest way to spend your money. It is discreet, easy to carry and it can only be used by you – because only you know the secret, personal identification number that allows you to pay at shops or withdraw money from cash dispensers, and only you can sign a sales slip. Compare that with cash, which can be spent by any thief, and you’ll see how well-protected you are.
Visa Global Customer Assistance Service
In the event of lost or stolen cards, report the cards immediately to the Visa Global Customer Assistance Service. This will provide you with emergency services such as emergency card replacement and cash advances, usually by the end of the next working day. It is open 24hours a day, 365 days a year by simply dialling 00-1-410-581-9994 and reversing the charges. Also check with your bank before leaving the country of any additional emergency services offered to you.
Preferential exchange rates
Using your Visa card at ATMs or to make purchases will often give you a better exchange rate than you would find if you exchange cash or travellers cheques at a bank, hotel or exchange bureaus. This is because payment card transactions are accounted at a middle exchange rate and when purchases are made at any merchant including shops, restaurants or hotels, there is no extra charge.
